Contexte clinique

What it measures

The SCOFF is a five-question screening tool for anorexia and bulimia nervosa, designed for use in primary care and by non-specialists. Its name is an acronym of key words in the five questions (Sick, Control, One stone, Fat, Food).

How it is scored

Each 'yes' scores 1 point. Two or more points indicates a likely eating disorder, with high sensitivity in validation studies (Morgan et al., 1999). A positive screen should lead to a detailed assessment.
